The clicker is a tool used for positive reinforcement training with all animals, but particularly dogs.
To use it, you first associate the click sound with a reward (like a treat) by repeatedly clicking and then immediately giving a treat. Once your pet understands the association, you can use the click to "mark" desired behaviours, followed by a reward.
This clicker can easily be put around your wrist whilst training or attached to a belt or belt loop on your trousers.
